Strengthening international cooperation and academic mobility
I am very pleased to announce that, in addition to my UN role, I have taken on a part-time role at the University of Liège in Belgium, where I will contribute to the development and promotion of the EU-funded, interuniversity EurIdentity Certificate.
This new role sits at the crossroads of my academic background, my professional experience in multilateral and international environments, and my long-standing commitment to international cooperation, mobility and interdisciplinary education.
Bridging academia, the European Union and international engagement
The EurIdentity Certificate offers students from all disciplines a unique opportunity to engage with European policies and values in a the cross-border academic setting of the Great Region (Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany). The programme reflects what I deeply believe in: that higher education thrives when knowledge circulates across borders, disciplines and cultures.
At a time when international cooperation is often challenged, academic mobility remains a powerful lever to foster open-mindedness, critical thinking and mutual understanding. Studying Europe from multiple national, disciplinary and institutional perspectives is not only an academic asset; it is also a way to prepare students to navigate complex international environments with nuance and responsibility.
Supporting students and researchers, strengthening networks
In this role, my focus will be on:
enhancing the visibility and attractiveness of the EurIdentity Certificate,
liaising with partner universities, academic authorities and faculties,
and supporting its integration within existing curricula at ULiège,
Having worked at the interface between academia, international organisations and multilateral diplomacy, I am particularly motivated to help build bridges between the classroom and the wider world—and to support initiatives that equip students with the tools, perspectives and confidence needed to engage internationally.
Looking ahead
I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the ULiège's International Relations Office and I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues, faculty members and partners across institutions. I hope to contribute to reinforcing international academic cooperation and ensuring that mobility, dialogue and shared knowledge remain at the heart of our educational missions.
