Olympic Games: UN & Paris

The #Olympic philosophy 🔥 and the United Nations 🇺🇳 share core values, advocating for the power of cooperation across borders, cultures, and disciplines to foster respect, friendship, and peace among nations. Sports, like diplomacy, play a crucial role in empowering individuals and building bridges between communities to strive for unity and inclusivity. 

Witnessing these values during the #Paris2024 Olympics was truly inspiring. I was first delighted to attend the Opening Ceremony from the UN headquarters, surrounded by French and international colleagues. Then, I attended two exciting sessions in Paris this weekend—athletics and archery—where the athletes’ team spirit and camaraderie complemented their excellence and diversity.

Big congrats to #France for the commendable organization and all the friendly staff and volunteers who made me and my family feel most welcome in their beautiful capital city 🇫🇷
