Following its recent entry into force, the Agreement marks a decisive moment for the governance of areas beyond national jurisdiction. Our piece revisits its core legal architecture, implementation mechanisms and institutional bodies designed to support the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity on the high seas.
