UN 6C ⚖️ Draft resolution on Crimes Against Humanity

🔵⚖️ Last Friday marked a historic moment in #internationallaw. After several deliberations and interruptions, the #UN #SixthCommittee adopted its draft resolution on #CrimesAgainstHumanity without a vote, upholding its valued tradition of consensus. 

This milestone brings us a step closer to the first-ever treaty on crimes against humanity—a much-needed instrument in an era when atrocities persist across the globe. This achievement reflects the hard work of talented UN delegates and legal advisers, with special recognition to Mexico and Gambia for spearheading the resolution.

As a UN Press Officer, it was a both a pleasure and a privilege to cover again #6C sessions this fall, delving into multilateral discussions on international issues and engaging with delegations. Moments like this highlight the power of collective action in advancing international law and justice.
